A Conversation
“When I got to the top of Piney Flat, the flakes just melted on the windshield.”
“Last winter, we just missed the blizzard on 40 by maybe an hour.”
“I went down to Les Schwab to buy some chains. The highway patrol can be real nasty if you forget to bring chains.”
“The snow kept filling up the wheel wheels. I pulled over and a trooper stopped to make sure we were okay.”
“Luckily, there was no snow on the passes. But I kept those chains on the passenger side just in case.”
“There were no cars; just silence. A deer came out from the trees and crossed the freeway.”
“Did it notice you?”
“I think he was wanting to get out of the snow as much as me.”
